SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH URGED TO PARTICIPATE IN ECONOMY AND POLITICS

DURBAN, June 26 (NNN-SABC)–Scores of young people under the banner of the South African Youth Alliance from across the country have descended on Durban to discuss issues that affect them.

They expressed concerns over the poor implementation of government policies.

Youth Alliance spokesperson Robert Ndlela says young people must actively participate in the economy and politics of the country.

Essentially as young people are gathered here they are all here calling for radical economic transformation but not only radical economic transformation can be addressed.

Former African Union Commission Chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who attended the event says the issues raised by the Youth Alliance should be channelled to the ANC policy conference.

The young people have got very good ideas and my advice as that these ideas should be channelled through to the policy conference of the ANC. They must continue being discussed we are going to engage them in different provinces as well, says Dlamini-Zuma.
