SOUTH AFRICA’S ABSENT FATHERS URGED TO THINK OF THEIR CHILDREN

JOHANNESBURG, As South African joins other countries in celebrating Father’s Day Sunday, the Commission for Gender Equality has called on absent fathers to think about the negative impact of their actions on their children.

The commission’s spokesperson, Javu Baloyi, said Sunday that being a father was not only about being a provider, but also involved being emotionally and physically present in a child’s life.

The Commission for Gender Equality applauds the fathers who are there in raising their kids. We are also appealing to the fathers who have rejected their kids and know where their kids are, to get closer to their kids, more especially the boys. Because during Fathers day it’s important as a parent that you have someone out there.
