Station Deck repair and refurbishment off to a good start

On Monday 21 January 2019, Alderman Felicity Purchase, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, made a site visit to the Station Deck minibus-taxi facility in Cape Town, which is currently undergoing a much-needed maintenance upgrade.

The project, which is scheduled to take four to five weeks to complete pending any unforeseen delays, has advanced to the stage where most of the preparatory work has been concluded.

This includes minor works and upgrades to the ablution facilities.

The contractor is working after hours to ensure that the work is completed as expeditiously as possible.

‘I am pleased about how well the project is progressing so far. The operators and commuters can look forward to an upgraded facility. The project promises improved access, ablution facilities, lighting and wayfinding signage,’ said Alderman Felicity Purchase.

Taxis are operating form the Grand Parade until the maintenance work is completed.
