Maclear Today, 19 October 2018, members of Maclear SAPS Visible Policing managed to arrest a suspect for robbery.
At 05:00 this morning, a suspect entered a shop and instructed the lady to open the safe and threatened her with a homemade firearm. An undisclosed amount of money and two cellphones were taken from the shop. The members immediately started to investigate as soon as the complaint was received. Camera footage was used to identify the suspect by the clothes he had on as his face was covered. The 28-year old suspect was then arrested at Peter Bokaba locality close to his house and the money and two cellphones recovered.
The Cluster Commander, Col Matshediso Gezani commended the members on their swift reaction and the arrest and recovery.
We will reclaim our space back from all criminals and restore the communities trust in us, he said.
