WESTERN CAPE – The vigilance of members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit landed a 19-year-old suspect behind bars for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition after he was caught in Gordon Searle Street, Cafda, Retreat at about 01:30 this morning. The members were busy with visible patrols and stop and search operations when they saw the suspect at an open field and arrested him with a 9mm pistol and eight rounds of ammunition. Once charged, the suspect will make a court appearance in Wynberg.
