Suspect due in court for possession of a human body part

POTCHEFSTROOM – A 25-year-old male suspect is expected to appear in the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mmabatho today, for possession of a human body part.
The suspect’s court appearance follows his apprehension at about on Saturday evening, 12 September 2020, at Montshiwastad village, Mahikeng, after members of Flying Squad acted on a tip-off about a suspect who killed his mother and carrying her head in a bag. On arrival at the scene, the police found the bag in the suspect’s possession. During the search, indeed a human head was found inside the bag.
The suspect allegedly admitted to killing his mother on Monday, 07 September 2020, in Hercules, Pretoria. As a result, he was then arrested.
The suspect will after court appearance today, be transferred to Pretoria to face a charge of murder.
The motive of the incident is unknown and investigation into the matter is underway.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena applauded the members for their quick response which resulted in the gruesome discovery and the arrest of the suspect.
