Suspect nabbed for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition

MT FLETCHER – In concerted efforts to eradicate the proliferation of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, a male suspect, age 33, was arrested at Solomzi location in Mt Fletcher.

It is alleged that on 15 March 2021, a team of detectives operationalized after receiving a community tip-off about a wanted suspect in a case of robbery.

The members followed up on the information and approached the suspect at the identified place at Solomzi location.

Upon searching the suspect, members found a firearm and 5 rounds of live ammunition in his possession.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Mt Flecther Police station. He will appear in in court soon facing two counts of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph lauded the Detectives for their sterling efforts in the recovery of a firearm.
