Suspects arrested in separate incidents for business robbery and hijacking in Nyanga and Browns Farm respectively

NYANGA – An intensified investigation conducted by our members attached to Nyanga SAPS led to the arrest of three suspects this morning who committed a business robbery in Crossroad last month. The alleged armed suspects entered the computer centre last month where they threatened the instructor and the students with firearms and robbed them of their cellphones and stole more than ten laptops and thereafter fled the scene.

The suspects were arrested in the early hours of this morning, 13 November 2019 at about 04:00 in Nyanga Area after a tracing operation was conducted by the Detectives. All three suspects between the ages 22 and 23 are expected to make a court appearance in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of business robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

In an unrelated incident, a 17-year-old male was arrested yesterday morning, 12 November 2019 after the suspect and his accomplices were found in a hijacked LDV that was transporting a generator and other machinery in Sheffield Road, Browns Farm. The suspects are expected to make a court appearance in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on charges of hijacking.
