Suspects arrested on various charges during weekend operations

In our endeavours to ensure that the people of this province are safe, frequent crime operations are conducted to clamp down on criminality. In Cape Town yesterday afternoon a 28-year-old suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed .45 calibre pistol and ammunition when was stopped during a routine roadblock in Mill Street Gardens. The suspect was also in possession of an ecstasy tablet and was accordingly charged.

In Bishop Lavis yesterday during an integrated operation between the respective law enforcement agencies a 35-year-old man with links to a local gang was arrested in Forel Road for being in possession of an assortment of drugs valued at around R5100-00.     

A 41-year-old man was apprehended yesterday n Riebeeck West when he was stopped at a roadblock with 1574 West Coast Rock Lobster tails on the back of his bakkie with an estimated value of R157 400-00. He was detained on a charge relating to the Marine Living Resource Act.

The suspects are all scheduled to make their respective court appearances on Tuesday to face the charges against them Source: South African Police Service
