WESTERN CAPE – To ensure that offenders are brought to book, members of Crime Intelligence and the K9 Unit conducted an operation in Bothasig last night, which led to the arrest of two suspects in their twenties when their Audi was pulled over in Vryburger Road. The suspects were apprehended in the possession an unlicensed firearm stolen in Philippi East during March this year and a flat screen television linked to house robbery perpetrated in Nyanga earlier this month. They are expected to make their court appearance in Goodwood on Monday.

Unrelated to the above arrest, members of Philippi police arrested a 33-year-old suspect on Thursday evening in Isiqalo informal settlement for being in possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition. His court appearance is scheduled in Athlone, also on Monday.
