FREE STATE – It is alleged that on 26 June 2020 at about 19:00, a man (50) and his 82-year-old mother were at home in Lovedale farm when their electricity trapped. The man went out with the intention of lifting up the plugs when he was allegedly attacked by three unknown males. They took him inside the house and continued to assault him and his mother. Apparently all suspects were not armed according and they tied both Mr Du Toit and his mother then demanded the keys to the safe. They fled the scene on foot with a firearm and 2 cellphones.
Both victims were referred to a local hospital for treatment. No one has been arrested and a case of house robbery has been registered for further investigation.
