According to South African Government News Agency, Danika Vyncke set a new record by earning silver in the Women's 50m Freestyle S13 final at Tollcross, posting a time of 28.41 and breaking the African record. This was her first medal at Glasgow 2026. Defending champion Lara van Niekerk clinched gold in the Women's 50m Breaststroke, clocking a time of 30.43 at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre. The Team South Africa website reported that Pieter Coetze set a new Commonwealth Games record in the Men's 100m Backstroke semi-final with a time of 52.20, advancing to the final as the fastest in the field. Aimee Canny secured her second medal of the Games, winning silver i n the Women's 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:09.37. Chad le Clos earned silver in the mixed 4x100m relay, marking his 20th medal and equaling Australia's Emma McKeon as the most decorated Games athlete. Additionally, Team South Africa's netball team triumphed over Northern Ireland with a score of 78-30.
