Three arrested for two different murders

EASTERN CAPE – Elliotdale Police arrested three men for two different murders which were committed at Gusi Village, Elliotdale. Two suspects aged 18 and 20 were arrested for alleged murder of a 43-year-old man. Both suspects were arrested on Sunday, 26 May 2019.

It is alleged that the 43-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Saturday, 25 May 2019 at about 20h00 at Dangazele Locality, Gusi Village, Elliotdale. The deceased suffered upper body injuries. He passed away at the scene. The motive for the murder is not known. Both suspects will appear before the Elliotdale Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 28 May 2019 on a charge of murder. The deceased was identified as Khayalethu Manginda.

In a different murder case a 28-year-old man was allegedly stabbed at Hlakothi Locality, Gusi Village, Elliotdale on Saturday, 25 May 2019 at about 20h00. He was rushed to Madwaleni hospital, Elliotdale where he was certified dead on arrival at the hospital. Elliotdale Police detectives arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him for the murder of the deceased. The motive behind the murder is not clear at this point in time. The suspect will also appear before the Elliotdale Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 28 May 2019 on a murder charge. The deceased was identified as Sizwe Magwaza aged 28.
