A 21-year-old man was arrested at Gqubeni Locality and three firearms and ammunition were recovered.

It is alleged that members of Public Order Police ( POPS) , K9 Unit and Crime Intelligence were busy with an Intelligence driven operation when they received positive information about illegal firearms kept on a nearby homestead.

On their arrival on the premises a thorough search were conducted and three firearms, one rifle with three cartridges, a 9mm pistol with one round and a shotgun.

The suspect was charged for illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of ammunition. The suspect is expected to appear at the Lusikisiki Magistrate court tomorrow.
