Three suspects arrested and stolen school computers recovered

King William’s Town: The principal, teachers and learners from Lombasi Junior Secondary School were all smiling with happy faces after police recovered stolen school property and arrested on suspect following a burglary that was committed in a local school where computers and other items were stolen.

Immediately after a case was opened intervention team deployed at Khanyayo followed intelligence driven information received from Port St Johns about a suspect alleged to be implicated in burglary and theft of school property at Lombasi Junior Secondary School situated at Cuthwini locality, Lusikisiki.

A search and seizure operation was conducted resulting in the following successes: Three male suspects aged between 25- 32 years were arrested and ten computers, five brooms and five mops were recovered.

The three male suspects appeared at Lusikisiki Magistrates’ Court today.

Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Ntshinga was pleased with the outcome. “Anyone who breaks into a school to steal essential school property and learning aids like computers is not only committing crime but is also an enemy of the nation for disrupting education of our future generations , our children,” said Lt Gen Ntshinga.
