NORTHERN CAPE – Members of the Kimberley Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit arrested three suspects this afternoon in connection with the case of rape and robbery. The suspects are aged between 20 and 22 years.
It is alleged this morning at about 04:30, a 28-year-old woman was walking home in Kimberley when attacked by three men. It is reported she was dragged into the veld where she was raped by the two while the third one robbed her of her tablet.
The suspects were arrested this afternoon at about 12:30. The robbed tablet has not yet been recovered and police are following some leads.
The suspects will appear before the Kimberley Magistrates court soon.
The Provincial Head of Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, Brig Nicky Mills has applauded members for their swift response which led to the arrest of the three suspects.
