Three suspects arrested in Kraaifontein following weekend violence in the area

The response by the Anti-Gang Unit to a shooting incident which left a 13-year-old boy fatally wounded in Kraaifontein last night, led to the arrest of two suspects for a murder which was committed earlier on the same day.

Last night at around 20:37 the young victim was shot and killed in Laboheme Street Scottsdene under circumstances which are currently still being investigated. AGU members were deployed in the area in search of the suspects and to investigate the circumstances. These investigations led to the arrests of two suspects aged 24 and 35 in connection with a murder of a 32-year-old man who was shot in Park Avenue Scottsdene at around 05:30 yesterday morning. Further investigation also resulted in the discovery of a 9mm pistol and ammunition which was reported stolen in Mont Clair in 2015. The firearm was found in the possession of the 35-year-old suspect.

This morning our investigations led us to a third suspect aged 32 who was also arrested in connection with the murder in Park Avenue in Scottsdene yesterday.

Once charged, the suspects are expected to make court appearances in Blue Downs.
