Tracing operations lead to recovery of police equipment

Western Cape: The Milnerton SAPS Serious Violent Crime team acted swiftly on information received about stolen property in Dunoon in their precinct. On their arrival at the given address they searched the premises and recovered one television set, one police bullet proof vest and dagga. Two male suspects aged 25 and 21 were arrested on three charges of possession of stolen property, receiving of stolen property and dealing in dagga.

The team proceeded further and conducted a tracing operation in the same area during which they recovered a Police Flash Light and a long Airgun. Two male suspects aged 28 and 24 years old were arrested for possession of stolen property and the third suspect aged 27 will be charged for possession of an Imitation firearm (Airgun).

During another operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit in the Milnerton area information was received about drugs in Dunoon. While waiting for the suspect to open the door, it is alleged that CPU members could hear shuffling inside and they forced the door open. The suspect was caught hiding something behind the bed, which turned out to be a plastic bag containing dagga, three half Mandrax tablets and three Vodaphone cellular telephones. He was arrested and will be charged with possession of dagga, possession of drugs and possession presumably stolen property.

All six suspects were arrested between Thursday (2018-08-10) at 22:00 and Friday, 2018-05-11 at 00:10. These arrested suspects will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14 May 2018.
