Traditional Leaders Crucial in Tackling Community Issues, Says Premier Ntuli

Pretoria:Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has highlighted the significant role of Amakhosi and Izinduna in recognizing community challenges and ensuring that these are communicated to the government.

According to South African Government News Agency, Ntuli addressed traditional leaders during a meeting aimed at enhancing collaboration between the provincial government and traditional leadership. This engagement allowed Amakhosi and Izinduna to directly present community issues to the Premier and discuss practical interventions.

The meeting served as a forum for dialogue on how government and traditional leaders can work in closer partnership to address community concerns. Ntuli emphasized that meaningful engagement with traditional leadership is vital for the government to understand and effectively respond to the realities faced by communities.

He stressed the importance of progressing from identifying challenges to developing practical solutions and ensuring that community issues are referred to the appropriate government structures. Ntuli reiterated the provincial government's dedication to maintaining a constructive relationship with traditional leaders, which he believes is essential for improving service delivery, community development, and governance responsiveness.

The meeting underscored the government's commitment to reinforcing partnerships with traditional leadership and ensuring that grassroots issues are adequately addressed, thereby encouraging communities to play an active role in devising solutions to their challenges.
