Trainee detective achieves a life sentence

KING WILLIAMS TOWN – Investigating Officer, Constable Bulelwa Dyosi has bagged a life sentence for rape handed down by the East London High Court. This comes after an uncle (62) continuously raped a 15-year-old child from 2017 to February 2019, at Ntsonkotha location, outside East London.

On February 2019, the child then told her friend’s grandmother about the rape and the matter was reported to the police.

Constable Bulelwa Dyosi worked hard to oppose bail during the bail application. The accused was sentenced to undergo life imprisonment and 3 years for sexual assault. Dyosi said she is happy of this achievement. “I was shocked, I was overwhelmed by all of this as I had just joined the FCS Unit (family child and sexual offences) from the CSC (community service centre) recently, said Dyosi. She then said achievements like this one, brings hope to the community.

Mdantsane cluster commander, Major General Henry Vos was particularly impressed by this feat, more importantly that Dyosi is new in this, “I am happy for her,” concluded Major General Vos.
