TUT Football maintain impressive form in Gauteng

Gauteng Sasol League log leaders, TUT Football Club maintained their unbeaten run and are well on course to dethroning their crosstown rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns as Queens of Gauteng football in the Sasol League.

The log leaders comfortably eased past NWU Vaal FC 2-0 at home to maintain their nine-point gap over JVW who are also putting up a good fight for title honours this season. TUT are yet to lose or draw a match in 17 outings which placed them as clear title favourites with the season just over the half way mark.

The reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are not giving up that easily and seem to be determined to fight until the final whistle. The Tshwane giants thrashed Nicco Taurus FC 3-0 in their own backyard to keep their title defense hopes alive while second placed JVW had to dig deep to edge a highly spirited Palace Super Falcons 1-0.

The loss to JVW could spell trouble for Mamelodi Sundowns who meet Super Falcons this weekend and will be hoping to bounce back from the loss. Any drop of points from Sundowns will see TUT move further away from their reach and with their next match being against Croesus, another victory is well on the cards for TUT should they maintain their impressive form.

JVW will enjoy home ground advantage when they host Rosina Sedibane Modiba Sports School in what should be a walk in the park for the Alberton based club. Modiba Sports languish at the bottom of the log with five points from 16 matches, just two points above bottom placed Blue Birds who play VUT on Saturday.
