Two firearms recovered by KwaMsane police, two men in court

DURBAN  the KwaMsane Task Team arrested a 31-year-old male at Mfekayi Reserve in KwaMsane.

The team acted on intelligence driven information about a suspect in possession of an unlicensed firearm. They went to a certain house where a search was conducted and a .38 revolver was found. The suspect was charged for possession of unlicensed firearm after he failed to produce a license to possess as firearm.

The team proceeded to KwaBhoboza area in KwaMsane where a 42-year-old suspect was found in possession of unlicensed firearm with 13 rounds of ammunition. He was then placed under arrest. Both suspects are appearing today in the KwaMsane Magistrates’ Court.

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula welcomed the arrest of the suspects. “The recovered firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing

to ascertain if it was used in any commission of serious and violent crimes,” he said.
