Two suspects were arrested by members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit members at Prieska in the Pixley ka Seme. The suspects were arrested following the rape and murder of a 33-year-old woman.

It is reported the woman was found yesterday morning in Prieska with head injuries and naked. She was rushed to Prieska Hospital where she later succumbed to injuries. The suspects are expected to appear before the Prieska Magistrates Court tomorrow facing charges of rape and murder.

The Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Units in the Northern Cape, Brigadier Nicky Mills commended the Investigating Officer, Constable Swarts from Prieska for tirelessly making sure that the suspects are arrested.
