Two men nabbed for murder

DURBAN – Two suspects aged 22 and 27 are appearing in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today for alleged murder.

The arrest came after an investigation that was conducted by Cato Manor Detectives regarding a case of murder. The suspects were arrested at Cato Crest on the same day of the incident. It is alleged that on 16 March 2021, at 16:30, Vusi Shandu (40) was on his way home from work at the corner of Vusi Mzimela Road and Jan Smuts Highway when he was shot and killed by three men. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.

“I am glad that the murder suspects were immediately arrested so that they will face the consequences for their actions,” said the Acting Provincial Commissioner for KwaZulu-Natal, Major General Thulani Gonya.
