Two men nabbed with stolen vehicles

DURBAN On 23 October 2019 at 21:00, police officers from the Alexandra Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit followed up intelligence with regards to a suspected stolen vehicle in the Rietvlei area.

The vehicle was spotted at KwaToyi in Rietvlei and was intercepted. The vehicle had no registration plates or licence disk. Investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Umzinto during August. A 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. He appeared at the Greytown Magistrates Court yesterday.

In another unrelated incident, an intelligence driven operation was conducted at Zondela in Ulundi yesterday afternoon. The operation was carried out by the Ulundi K9 Unit together with other law enforcement agencies at Unit K in Ulundi. Intelligence was received of a stolen vehicle which was parked at Zondela.

Preliminary investigations at the scene revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Alberton during August. A 32-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for possession of suspected stolen property. He is appearing at the Mahlabathini Magistrates Court today.
