Two suspects arrested for dealing in drugs

NORTHERN CAPE – A 20-year-old suspect is expected to appear at the Calvinia Magistrate court on Friday facing charge of dealing in drugs.
He was arrested by the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team working together with K9 unit in Upington.
The jointed team conducted a roadblock at R27 road between Calvinia and Nieuwoudtville on Wednesday. Upon searching a particular vehicle, 3,369 kg of dagga with an estimated street of value R16 845 and 64 grams of Tik with an estimated street value of R64 000 were confiscated.
The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at Calvinia police station.
Meanwhile on a separate incident, a 26 year suspect has been arrested on the same roadblock for dealing in drugs.
During the search, the team confiscated 1995 grams of dagga with an estimated street value of R9 997.
The suspects are expected to appear at Calvinia Magistrate court on Friday, 04 December 2020.
