Two suspects arrested for possession of antiretroviral medication

FREE STATE – A team consisting of members from various police units arrested two suspects in possession of boxes and bags full of antiretroviral tablets at Bloemfontein Railway Station earlier today, Thursday, 09 January 2020.

The team followed up on intelligence driven information and on arrival at the Bloemfontein Railway Station, spotted a Grey BMW sedan with Eastern Cape registration numbers. They tactically approached the vehicle and searched it. Inside the boot they discovered boxes and bags covered with the blanket. These boxes and bags were full of bottles containing antiretroviral tablets brands such as Atroiza, Odimune and Tribuss.

The two suspects, 33-year-old man alleged to be employee of Department of Health based at Robert Mjobo clinic, Lady Grey in the Eastern Cape Province and another man (45) were arrested and taken into police custody and a case of Possession of suspected stolen property was opened. The total number of bottles containing the ARV tablets is 1 068. The suspects were then detained and the investigation of the case docket will continues.
