Two suspects arrested with tik worth R50 000

MTHATHA – OR Tambo District Provincial Stock theft Operation yielded good success when two suspects were arrested by East London Public Order Police members at Ngangelizwe Location, Mthatha yesterday, 07 March 2021.

Members were conducting stop and search at Ngangelizwe when they received intelligence driven information about the two suspects who were allegedly transporting crystal meth (tik).

Police located the vehicle, fitting the description, driving down Tutor Ndamase Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and searched. Police found drugs 1.3 kg Crystal meth (Tik) with an estimated value of +-R50 000-00 packed in plastic bags.

Both suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in court soon facing charges of possession/dealing in drugs.

Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga welcomed the arrest. “The scourge of drugs is responsible for the demise of family, lawlessness and destruction of young lives. Every arrest saves our youth from drug abuse.”
