Two suspects nabbed for various crimes including malicious damage to property

POLOKWANE – Two suspects aged 27 and 41, were arrested last night for various crime incidents including malicious damage to property. These suspects were part of a group of people that damaged and burned properties including a motor vehicle in the Gilead Policing area outside Mokopane, on Sunday 22 March 2020 during the day.

It is alleged that a group of people armed with various assorted dangerous weapons, arrived at Harmony No. 1 village, attacked a family and burnt a cattle kraal and stole some of the cattle. This group proceeded to another house at the same area, where they also attacked another family and burnt their motor vehicle, damaged other properties before they fled the scene.

The police were notified about the two incidents and reacted swiftly. The initial investigations and manhunt ensued which led to the arrest of the two suspects.

The motive behind these incidents are not clear at this stage but the ongoing police investigations will tell. More arrests are expected.

The arrested suspects will soon appear before Gilead Periodical Court soon
