Uitenhage K9 Unit recover 3 firearms and arrest suspects

PORT ELIZABETH – Quick reaction to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle resulted in two arrests and the recovery of three firearms by Uitenhage K9 unit members last night, 08 October 2020.
It is alleged that at about 21:24, members attended to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked outside a business premises in Cannon Street in Uitenhage. On arrival they found two males seated in a Mazda 323 vehicle. On searching the vehicle, 3 firearms were found in the car. The serial numbers on all firearms were filed off.
The two males, aged 22 years old, from Kwanobuhle were arrested and detained on a charge of possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition. The vehicle was also confiscated for forensic analysis.
They are expected to appear in the Uitenhage magistrates’ court soon.
