WESTERN CAPE – Our efforts to remove firearms in our communities proved successful when last night, 13 February 2020, members of Maitland Flying Squad pulled over a suspicious Hyundai Getz vehicle in Bellville. Upon searching the vehicle, members discovered a 9mm Norinco pistol with several rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 27 and 37, were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Once charged, they will appear at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 February 2020.
