Western Cape flying squad arrested two suspects for the possession of an unlicensed fire-arm and ammunition in Kensington

Members of the Western Cape Flying Squad upheld the mission of the SAPS by preventing and combatting crime that may threaten the safety and security of the Factreton and Kensington Communities, when they made two significant arrests.

On Sunday, 2019-10-20 at about 16:30, the members received information of armed males at a premises in Waarnemer Square, Factreton. Upon attending to the complaint, and searching the premises, they found, two males aged 20, in possession of a firearm and ammunition, in a room in the house.

A black, Taurus 9mm pistol, with serial number filed off, 16 x 9mm rounds and one black 9mm magazine was confiscated.

The suspects were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Once charged they will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court, where after bail will be opposed.
