Whittlesea man arrested for murder

Whittlesea police arrested a 31-year-old man for alleged murder of a 49-year-old man. It is alleged that the suspect went to the house of the deceased at Sada Township, Whittlesea on Saturday, 04 January 2020 at about 22:00.

The suspect is alleged to have dragged the 49-year-old man out of his house and asked why he provoked him. The suspect who was armed with a brick and hit the 49-year-old man until he passed away.

The murder was reported to Whittlesea police station and the police members who were on duty acted swiftly by tracing the suspect and arrested him. The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all his relatives are officially informed about his murder. The suspect will appear before the Whittlesea Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 06 January 2020 on a murder charge. Queenstown Police Cluster Commander, Major General Funeka Siganga commended police members for the expeditious arrest of the suspect.
