Willowvale police investigate the rape of an elderly woman

EASTERN CAPE – Willowvale Police have opened a rape case following the alleged rape of an 83-year-old woman. It is alleged that the victim is staying alone at her home at Mboya Locality, Ntlabane Village, Willowvale.

On Friday, 01 May 2020 at about 4am she was awoken by the man who threatened her with a knife. The suspect did not injure the victim but he is alleged to have raped her. The suspect left the house without stealing anything after the alleged rape.

Eastern Cape Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga condemned the rape of the elderly woman who could not defend herself. General Ntshinga has instructed the investigating officer of the case to work around the clock to bring the suspect to the book soon.
