Woman shot dead in Ngqamakhwe

Ngqamakhwe Police are investigating a murder case. It is alleged that two men arrived at the homestead of a 60-year-old woman at Mzantsi Locality, Mantunzeleni Village, Ngqamakhwe on Sunday, 16 June 2019 at about 19:30. The two men pretended as if they wanted a room to rent as there are some flats at the homestead to rent.

The two men requested to speak to the woman outside the house. Once they were outside the house, one of them pulled his fire arm and fatally wounded the woman. The deceased was shot on her upper body. The motive behind the cold blooded murder is not known. The two suspects fled the scene after killing the woman. The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all her family members are officially informed of her murder. Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu condemned the senseless murder of an old defenceless woman.
