Worcester Crime Prevention members recovered 169 rifle rounds

Western Cape: The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen KE Jula commended the members and community of Worcester after the discovery of 169 high calibre rifle rounds found hidden on an open field. He says that partnership policing is the key to safer, weapon and drug free communities.

On Tuesday night (2019-01-22), members attached to Worcester SAPS Crime Prevention Unit followed up on information received from the community that firearms and ammunition are being stored on an open field. On arrival at the identified place, 169 high calibre rifle rounds used in R5, R4 and AK47 assault rifles were found hidden on the field.

No suspect has been arrested at this stage. An inquiry case docket has been opened for further investigation.
