{"id":11144,"date":"2017-11-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricajournal.com\/?guid=c139aae978c0eb603abfdc9682cafd95"},"modified":"2017-11-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T00:00:00","slug":"president-zuma-to-attend-sadc-troika-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricajournal.com\/president-zuma-to-attend-sadc-troika-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"President Zuma to attend SADC Troika meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P><\/P><P>President Jacob Zuma, in his capacity as Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), is expected to attend the Summit of the SADC Organ Troika plus Chairperson of SADC.<\/P><P>The summit, which expected to discuss the unfolding developments in Zimbabwe, will take place in Luanda, Angola on Tuesday.<\/P><P>The Presidency said on Sunday the summit will be hosted by Angolan President Joao Lourenco, who is the Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.<\/P><P>Earlier this week the Zimbabwean military allegedly took control of State institutions and confined President Robert Mugabe and his wife to their house, saying it was targeting criminals in government who are bent on destabilising the country.<\/P><P>On Sunday Zimbabwe&#8217;s ruling party announced that President Robert Mugabe had been removed from his position as president and first secretary of the ZANU PF by a unanimous vote at a Central Committee Special Session in Harare.
