Cameroon will be the first country to host an expanded 24-team AFCON tournament.<\/P><P>Dr Jordaan left South Africa for the Central African country over the weekend and him and his team will complete the site-seeing for all the venues on Monday, 13 August 2018 before giving the verdict on the way forward.<\/P><P>CAF took a decision last year to expand the size of the AFCON tournament, its biggest football tournament, in a bid to give it a bigger and better global feel.<\/P><P>And despite some teething problems, Cameroon has insisted it is confident of meeting the deadlines to host next year&#8217;s AFCON tourney and that all of its venues will be ready.<\/P><P>Nigeria&#8217;s FA President Amaju Pinnick is the chair of the organising committee while Dr Jordaan is his deputy.<\/P><P>Pinnick is also CAF vice-president of CAF while Dr Jordaan is a senior CAF Executive committee member.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Source: South African Football Association <\/P><P><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan is in Cameroon evaluating the state of that country&#8217;s readiness to host next year&#8217;s Africa Cup of Nations.
