PORT ELIZABETH – The\nSouth African Police Service in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro assisted by the\nMetro Police, Provincial Traffic, SANDF and the NMB traffic are relentless in\ntheir continuing efforts to ensure that the lockdown regulations as stipulated\nin the Disaster Management Act is strictly adhered to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Various roadblocks are\nheld throughout the metro on a daily basis and motorists are courteously\ninterrogated as to their movements. Residents were urged to shop for essential\nitems in their respective areas thus restricting movement. Police will\ncontinue with their operational responsibilities and has warned the communities\nthat they will not hesitate to arrest anyone who is in contravention of the\nAct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foot patrols are done\ndaily throughout the metro in our endeavours to ensure that there are no\npedestrians on the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visiting friends and\nfamily during lockdown is not allowed and those found flouting these\nregulations are arrested<\/p>\n\n\n\n
