DURBAN \u2013 The alertness\nof police officers in the Ugu Cluster led to the arrest of four suspects aged\nbetween 24 and 28. Police officers from the Ugu Cluster, Port Shepstone SAPS,\nPublic Order Police and other law enforcement agencies responded following a\nreport of card scamming in the Umzinto CBD yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police chased the\nsuspects on the N2 freeway and apprehended the men near the Port Shepstone toll\nplaza. Four men were found inside the vehicle and were immediately arrested.\nPolice seized eight bank cards, cash and cellphones that were found in the\nmen\u2019s possession. The suspects could not account for the items that were found\nin their possession. The vehicle that they were travelling in was also seized\nfor further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the suspects as\nwell as some of the stolen items were positively identified by a victim of\ntheft in Umzinto. The suspects will be charged for theft and possession of\nsuspected stolen property. They will appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrates\nCourt on Monday, 04 May 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The KwaZulu-Natal\nProvincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the\npolice officers for swiftly arresting the suspects<\/p>\n\n\n\n
