The City\u2019s Water and Sanitation Directorate had to shut off the 450mm diameter water supply main to the Belhar area at 09:30 this morning, 4 April 2022 to enable a maintenance crew to safely attend to the emergency repairs. This work will result in the disruption of the water supply to the Belhar area.<\/p>\n
The City became aware of a severe leak on the water supply main and had to urgently plan to conduct the repairs.<\/p>\n
Residents are advised to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and\/or damage when the supply is restored.<\/p>\n
Alternate water supply is being explored, but will only be able to supply Extension One due to the location in the water supply network. Residents with access to water supply are kindly requested to minimise their consumption to assist in extending the alternate water supply as far as possible in the network. <\/p>\n
A water tanker will be parked at the clinic in St Vincent Street and another will be roaming through the areas that do not have any water to provide water for domestic use.<\/p>\n
The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
