The City of Cape Town\u2019s Road Infrastructure Management Department is set to commence with the resurfacing of roads in Ilitha Park and Site B in Khayelitsha. The work is to commence this week until the end of April 2022, pending unforeseen delays and inclement weather.<\/P>
The work is part of routine maintenance to prolong the longevity of the road network in Khayelitsha and Ilitha Park.<\/P>
In Ilitha Park, the work will be done on Ngcwalazi Drive and the intersection of Mew Way and Steve Biko Road.<\/P>
In Site B, the work will be done in Sulani Drive and Xhala Crescent.<\/P>
Included in this project is:<\/P>
\u2022\tthe milling of the pavement to a depth of 90mm and 40mm and reinstating it with a base layer of 50mm BTB on selected areas<\/P>
\u2022\ta 40mm asphalt wearing course for the selected areas of streets<\/P>
\u2022\tthe repainting of the affected areas including the side stops<\/P>

Roads are the arteries that carry our people to destinations, including, work opportunities, medical centres and recreational facilities. Thus, we want to optimise their efficiency and ensure our residents keep on moving,\u2019 said the Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.<\/P>
