The City of Cape Town encourages residents to use its convenient online e-Services to avoid the possible August 2022 motor vehicle licence renewal peak and longer office queues.<\/P>

City customer offices, including the motor vehicle licensing offices, may experience longer queues due to a spike in vehicle licence renewals. Customers are encouraged to make use of the City’s online options, where possible.<\/P>
<\/P>
Motorists should bear in mind and include in their planning that it could take up to 10 days for online applications, which includes the processing, as well as dispatch by the South African Post Office.<\/P>
<\/P>
‘City customer offices, including the motor vehicle registration and licensing offices, are seeing an increase in renewals for the month of August. We ask residents to plan their visit to an office ahead of time, factor in the turnaround times for processing, or to use the City’s e-Services.<\/P>
<\/P>
‘City office staff allow senior, pregnant and disabled customers to move to the front of the queue where they will be assisted as soon as possible,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Siseko Mbandezi.<\/P>

Since 1 July 2022, the City has switched to Pay@ as the new online and retailer third-party service provider for fine payments.<\/P>

Motorists are advised that fines and warrants can now be viewed and paid online at https:\/\/www.paythat.co.za\/ \u2013 this includes fines pre-dating 1 July 2022.<\/P>

In the event that a motorist wants to pay their fines in person at a retailer, they can pay at selected SPAR shops, if the fine pre-dates 1 July 2022.<\/P>

Fines issued as from 1 July can be paid at selected SPAR shops, as well as Ackermans, Builder’s Warehouse, Game, Makro, PEP and Pick n Pay.<\/P>
<\/P>
From 1 August 2022, these fines can also be paid at Shoprite\/Checkers Money Market kiosks.<\/P>
