The City of Cape Town\u2019s Road Infrastructure Management Department will soon commence with the resurfacing of various roads in Eagle Park, a suburb within Grassy Park. The roadworks are scheduled to take place between 23 August 2022 and 29 September 2022 , if all goes as planned. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The City will be resurfacing the following roads in Eagle Park:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Buck Road between Flamingo Way and 7th Avenue<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Curlew Way between Buck Road and Buck Road<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Curlew Close between Curlew Way and the cul de sac<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Darter Crescent between Curlew Way and Curlew Way<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Garnet Link between Jacana Lane and Curlew Way<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Dikkop Close between Curlew Way and the cul de sac<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Gallinule Close between Curlew Way and the cul de sac<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Flamingo Way between Buck Road and Sorrel Way<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In addition to these roads being resurfaced, the City will also be repairing damaged kerbs, channels, manholes and catch pits in this vicinity.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
‘I am glad to hear this residential area is receiving this important maintenance work and I am looking forward to seeing the fresh looking roads soon,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Commuters are advised to be cautious and to slow down when approaching the areas where work is underway. It is recommended that road users consider alternative routes if possible. Due to the high traffic volumes and risk of severe congestion along Buck Road during the day time, sections of the roadworks have been scheduled for the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Approximately 2,3km of roads will be resurfaced in the area. This work forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city’s road network and will take place from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 17:30. Traffic moving in both directions will be affected.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Should anyone park in the vicinity and obstruct the maintenance work, their vehicles will be moved away.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
