The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) announced the official opening of two service stations in Rundu on Thursday.<\/P>
<\/P>
One of the service stations is located at the corner of Maria Mwengere Street and Independence Avenue in Kehemu informal settlement, while the second is located on Independence Avenue in the Extension 4 neighbourhood.<\/P>
<\/P>
\u201cThe two service stations will serve the community of Rundu with its fuel and lubricant needs. Given Rundu\u2019s population of roughly 63 400 residents, the two sites are uniquely positioned to serve the community and provide motorists and travellers with 24-hour convenience stores,\u201d Namcor Public Relations and Communications Specialist, Utaara Hoveka said in a media statement.<\/P>
<\/P>
He said the service station in Kehemu will serve its residents and those of Kaisosi among others, while the second station will cater for residents of the upcoming Sauyemwa suburbs in the vicinity, as well as the town\u2019s industrial area.<\/P>
<\/P>
Both sites boast convenience stores, with one equipped with the additional benefit of a sitting area inside the store.<\/P>
<\/P>
Hoveka noted that Namcor has been able to apply its strategic retail expansion plan, with Rundu being the 14th and 15th additions to its retail service station portfolio.<\/P>
<\/P>
The petroleum company stated it will continue to open service stations around the country to cater to the needs of every Namibian, providing jobs as well as offering consumers a wider variety of choices.<\/P>
<\/P>
To date, Namcor has a total of 15 service stations across the country and has embarked on several sites currently under construction, with completion envisaged for later in the year.<\/P>
<\/P>
Namcor\u2019s acting executive for sales and marketing, Olivia Dunaiski, reaffirmed the entity\u2019s commitment to the implementation of its fuel retail strategy.<\/P>
<\/P>
\u201cNamcor endeavours to expand its retail network to strategic places around the country, thereby offering an alternative choice to consumers, as well as contributing to the growth of the local economies of our various cities, towns and villages,\u201d said Dunaiski.<\/P>
