They are part of a graduating class of more than 980 students, representing 131 countries, who have recently completed University of Liverpool master&#8217;s and doctoral degrees, and postgraduate certificate programmes online. Graduates from the online programmes have the option to receive their degree certificate in person at graduation ceremonies held twice a year at the University of Liverpool.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a great honour to welcome our new online graduates and their families to Liverpool along with our campus graduates,&#8221; said the University&#8217;s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janet Beer. &#8220;I hope all of our online graduates will celebrate their great achievements and are ready to use their new knowledge and skills to enhance their professional impact in businesses, organisations and communities globally.&#8221;\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/152011046\/pool.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"30\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to attending the campus ceremonies, the graduates and their families and friends, as well as faculty members, were welcomed at the Online Graduates&#8217; Recognition Ceremony and Reception at the Titanic Hotel, Stanley Dock, Liverpool on 8 December<i>. <\/i>The event honoured graduates from several online programmes who received the Student of the Year and Dissertation of the Year Awards, and provided an opportunity for all online graduates to meet and network with their peers from around the world.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Student of the Year Awards \u2013 for outstanding performance throughout an online degree programme \u2013 were awarded to:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Dale Aluf, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-psychology\" >MSc in Applied Psychology<\/a> graduate in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Alan Boyd, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-operations-and-supply-chain-management\" >MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management<\/a> graduate in the UK<\/li>\n<li>Rania Elsheimy, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-corporate-finance\" >MSc in Corporate Finance<\/a> graduate in the UAE<\/li>\n<li>Lydiah Mutisya, an LLM in International Finance and Banking Law graduate in Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Margaret Rose, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/master-of-public-health\" >Master of Public Health (MPH)<\/a> graduate in Northern Mariana Islands<\/li>\n<li>Elisabetta Rotolo, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/master-of-business-administration\" >Master of Business Administration (MBA)<\/a> graduate in Italy<\/li>\n<li>David Sanders, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-information-technology\" >MSc in Information Technology<\/a> graduate in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Nicola Bidwell, an MSc in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Investigation graduate in the UK<\/li>\n<li>Clara Wing Yee Wu, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-management\" >MSc in International Management<\/a> graduate in Hong Kong<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Dissertation of the Year Awards \u2013 for an outstanding dissertation \u2013 were awarded to:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Dennis Bloch, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/llm-in-international-business-law\" >LLM in International Business Law<\/a> graduate in Germany<\/li>\n<li>Natalie Drever, an MSc in Applied Psychology graduate in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Francesca Jones, an MSc in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Investigation graduate in the UK<\/li>\n<li>Juan Manuel Vergara Montiel, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.liverpool.ac.uk\/programmes\/msc-in-software-engineering\" >MSc in Software Engineering<\/a> graduate in Spain.<\/li>\n<li>Linnea Renton, a Master of Public Health (MPH) graduate in the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;An emergency doctor by training, I took the online masters to increase my management knowledge, focusing my dissertation research on emergency medicine in the private health care sector in Hong Kong. The programme gave me flexibility and was very well structured, with a lot of interaction with students and instructors from all over the world \u2013 the Middle East, Europe, America and even China,&#8221; said Dr. Clara Wing Yee Wu, MSc in International Management graduate and Student of the Year Award winner, from Hong Kong. &#8220;Here in the UK, I am meeting my Dissertation Advisor.
