Youth Development celebrates second Clean Audit

NYDA commended for extraordinary performance as the Agency announces its second Clean Audit

We will always remember the year 2015/16 as the year in which the NYDA took giant strides as a public entity of the government of South Africa. Bold steps were taken that will forever shape how this institution is seen into the future, a legacy of solid performance grounded by sound governance, NYDA CEO Khathu Ramukumba told press at a media briefing held at Agency’s Tshwane Branch on Wednesday. The NYDA achieved its first ever Clean Audit in the 2014/15 financial year, which the Agency is pleased to have maintained in 2015/16. Furthermore, the Agency has achieved its highest performance ever since its inception for the past financial year.

This improvement can be attributed to the turnaround strategy that has been adopted by the Agency as well as the organisational realignment process that took place recently and the shift in focus on areas of service, to better respond to needs of the youth of South Africa. Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Honorable Buti Manamela while delivering his key note address added, A great deal of today’s press briefing lies in the fact that the NYDA has maintained the clean audit, but for government a cause for celebration is the achievement of the its highest performance, ever. Since its establishment the NYDA has reached the highest performance of 96%. This simply means that the NYDA has performed optimally on its mandate. It ultimately means that more lives of young lives have been transformed for the better through its products and service of the NYDA.

According to Mr Ramukumba, the NYDA understands the fact that young people have a need to be connected 24/7, therefore he announced that they would be launching the NYDA Mobile App, as a means of further enabling the youth to access the Agency’s products and services. We will also be turning all NYDA branches to WiFi hotspots. This is so to enable young people who visit our branches the ability to even use their own devices to apply for opportunities while waiting to use our internet cafe’s or waiting to be attended to at the branch, he concluded.
