Zimbabwe/South Africa: Kaizer Chiefs Tracking Zimbabwean Kuda Mahachi

ZIMBABWE international forward Kuda Mahachi has reportedly attracted attention in South Africa following a stellar season with with Kaizer Chiefs said to be pursuing his signature.

Mahachi is currently with the national team in Zimbabwe preparing for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi at the weekend.

He was outstanding in the 2-0 victory over Uganda in an international friendly match.

Kaizer Chiefs are implementing major changes to their playing squad with as many as 20 players no longer in the plans for the next campaign.

This development has now cleared the path for new comers and, according to KickOff, Mahachi has been identified by Chiefs as a target in the offensive attacking midfield position.

The club has placed Sula Matovu – another left-footed attacking midfielder – on transfer after he battled to break into the team this past season.

However, the challenge that Chiefs are facing is that while it is clear that Mahachi was on loan at Golden Arrows last season, there is not much clarity regarding his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, his parent club last year.

Mahachi battled to make much of an impact in his first year at Sundowns which led to him being moved out to Arrows where he made 22 appearances, scoring four goals and four assists.
