Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 recognize the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa's energy sector. Featuring 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, the awards celebrate the achievements shaping the continent's energy future.
According to African Press Organization, the winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. The ceremony will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to recognize excellence in upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership.
In the African Service Provider of the Year category, companies like GeoEnergy Group, One Titanium, KAESO, SONILS, and NIPEX have been nominated for their contributions in advancing digital transformation, delivering specialized services, and enhancing procurement and local supplier participation, particularly in Nigeria's oil and gas sector.
The International Service Provider of the Year nominees include NOV, Geoex MCG, Africa Global Logistics, Technip Energies, SBM Offshore, and SLB. These companies have been recognized for their support of major energy developments, offshore exploration, and provision of advanced engineering and technical services across Africa.
The Local Content Champion categories highlight both African and international companies that have significantly contributed to local workforce development and indigenous participation. Notable nominees include Seplat Energy, Copia Group of Companies, Renaissance Africa Energy, Cabship, TotalEnergies Uganda, NOV, Woodside Energy, and Africa Global Logistics.
In the EandP Leader of the Year category, Shell, Renaissance Africa Energy and NNPCL, Murphy Oil, Eni, OMV and Libya's National Oil Corporation, Dangote Refinery, Cabinda Oil Refinery, East African Crude Oil Pipeline, and African Atlantic Gas Pipeline are competing for recognition of their exploration leadership and expansions in resource bases.
The Deal of the Year category includes significant transactions such as Trafigura's $1 billion oil prepayment agreement with Gabon, Levene Energies' stake acquisition in Axxela, Heirs Energies' acquisition of a stake in Seplat Energy, and UTM FLNG's development agreement for Nigeria's first floating LNG project.
The CSR Project of the Year nominees, including Mozambique LNG, South African National Petroleum Company, Kosmos Energy Ghana, Sonangol, Eni, and Oando Foundation, have been acknowledged for their community support initiatives ranging from education to clean cooking initiatives.
For the Gas Monetization Award, companies like Levene Energies, NOV APL Norway, Congo LNG, and Amufert have been recognized for their efforts in advancing gas commercialization and expanding LNG production.
The Technology Innovator category highlights TotalEnergies, SOLA Group, Shearwater, TGS, and Starlink for their innovative solutions in optimizing subsea field layouts, solar and battery storage projects, and seismic data transfer.
Finally, in the Power Africa Developer category, TotalEnergies, Siemens Energy, Globeleq, and Infinity Power are recognized for their contributions to expanding renewable energy portfolios and supporting Africa's growing power demand.
