AGI SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH ACI – AGENCE CONGOLAISE D’INFORMATION ( REPUBLIC OF CONGO )

Brazzaville, 10 July 2015 – The General Director of ACI – Agence Congolaise de Presse and Vice President of FAAPA – Fédération Atlantique des Agences de Presse Africaines, Mr Anasth Wilfrid Mbossa, and the Chief Executive Officer of Agi- Agenzia Giornalistica Italia, Mr Gianni Di Giovanni, signed today in Brazzaville, in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Relations with the Parliament, Mr Bienvenu Okiemy, and of the Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Congo, Mr Andrea Mazzella, a Memorandum of Understanding which starts an editorial partnership between the Republic of Congo and Italy.

The agreement provides a strong editorial collaboration between the two agencies in the field of editorial production, professional training and organization of events, and it allows Agi to further consolidate its presence in the African continent thanks to a timely, complete and reliable coverage of the main events in the Country.

“Agi has always reserved a particular attention to the African context, as shown by our 10 news correspondents in the continent’s key areas and the agreements with news agencies and media outlets in Algeria, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and Tunisia” declared Agi’s CEO Mr Gianni Di Giovanni. “Thanks to this agreement, Agi strengthens its ties with FAAPA, whose several partners of Agi, such as Agence Congolaise de Presse, Maghreb Arabe Presse, Ghana News Agency, Agence Ivoirienne de Presse and SAnews, are part of”.
